The second meeting took place in Iceland from september 26 to 27. The theme was "ALS/MND and Helping aids"

Groups will arrive sept. the25th. and driven to conference place. Sightseeing and return to airport sept. the 28th.

Here the program:

Conference two days kl:09:00 – 16:30. 26.september and 27. september

                  Day 1.

09:00-09:45       Registering and handing out papers.

10:00-10:30       Minister of health

10:30-11:00       Chairman of Nordic ALS/MND  Gudjon Sigurdsson. What have we achieved from last years meeting? The work ahead.           

11:00-11:45       Peter Andersen, professor at Umeå Universitet in Sweden. Research in the world.

11:45-13:00       Lunch

13:00-14:00       Policy and treatment of respiratory condition in Iceland. Thorarinn Gislason, MD, PhD, Dir. Dept. of Allergy, Respiratory Medicine and Sleep, Landspitali University Hospital (E7)

14:00-14:45      Research in Iceland? Elías Ólafsson, MD, Dir. Dep. of  neurology, Landspitali University Hospital.

15:00-15:30      Coffee

15:30-16:00      Helpers in Denmark. Jette Möller

16:00-16:30      Helpers in Iceland. Félagsþjónusta Hafnarfjarðar.

16:30-17-00      Being together

19:00-?                   Dinner, entertainment

09:00-09:45       What is the procedure in getting helping aids in the Nordic countries?. View of the users.

10:15-11:45       Workgroup (5 question asked)

11:45-13:00       Lunch

13:00-14:30       Result of groups

14:30-15:00       Gretar Gudmundsson MD (Specialist in ALS)

15:00-15:30       Coffee

15:30-16:00       Ideal procedure in getting helping aids for ALS/MND. Kristín Einarsdóttir

16:00-16:30       Minister of social affairs concludes the meeting

16:30-17-00      Being together

Persons who helps or works as carer will be referred to as "CALS".
